As we come to the close of another year and Thanksgiving we again want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the faithful volunteers and donors to the ministry. We are entering our 6th year and God has truly blessed.
The pantry continues to struggle keeping food on the shelf but God has been so faithful to see that we always have enough to serve our clients. This month we have had numerous unexpected donations of food and our shelves are the fullest we have ever seen! Starting December 1 we will be implementing a new policy at the pantry. Due to the increasing number of clients we will begin distributing food by appointment only. This will take a few weeks to work out the kinks but we are anticipating it being a very positive change. We are finding that Mondays are especially chaotic and we do not have enough time to spend with each client for prayer and discussing any spiritual problem or question they might have. We are a ministry first and a food pantry second so we are excited about being able to spend at least 15 minutes with every client. Please pray that the transition goes smoothly.
Our Decatur ministry is growing rapidly. Our director's have begun a Bible Study with the children in the neighborhod and are averaging about 7 or so children attending. They have also got to know some of the parents as well and are building bridges and actively sharing Jesus Christ in that neighborhood.
Alysha's House of Hope is in the midst of some restructuring of policies and procedures so we are not taking any new clients at this time. We currently have one lady living there and God is at work in her life. Again we are thankful for the volunteers who are staffing the house 24 hours a day.
Please continue to pray for the ministry as we go into the new year. God bless and Merry Christmas!
